Who else could make Ready Salted Chipsticks?

As my last post confirmed Walkers are not intending to bring back Ready Salted Chipsticks, much to the sadness of many of the starving fans out there.

However a kindly stranger did give me an idea. Will anyone else produce them? I will admit that my main aim thus far has been to badger Walkers into relenting and bringing this excellent product back. I mean it made perfect sense. They already run the machinery for the other flavour that shall not be named, and it’s pretty simple for them to re-launch considering they still own the recipe and rights. Sadly they have repeatedly shown that the do not agree with me.

And therefore my mind was (figuratively) blown yesterday, when a devoted (I’m sure) reader left a comment that it may be worthwhile to contact some other companies and see if it would be worth their while to start producing a similar product. Obviously due to property rights it could never be exactly the same. Still would it not be better to have something that mimics the truth? I say give it a try. The worst that could happen is that they’re not as good; the best that they are better. Perhaps it would even mean that some healthy competition would finally knock some sense into Walkers.

So to this end I have begun to contact other producers in the UK. At the moment by biggest hope is KP Snacks. It fits their brand style and they are a well-established and steady company, with many other wholly enjoyable products. I’m also going to contact Fairfields, Tyrells, Kettle Chips, Roysters and anyone else I can find.

I encourage you to contact each of them as well. I think we should continue with the ongoing monologue with Walkers, as there’s no point in cutting that avenue off, but let’s see if anyone else will earn our trust and love, by being the producer we need!

  1. Why not try Smith's, I'm sure they done the original recipe.

  2. Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately Walkers are now the owner of Smiths, which is where this whole problem began. They're clever sods!

    1. Thanks Daedrics! Feel free to relay that back to Walkers Crisps as well... They need to know they are denying people of simple pleasures! Thanks for reading!
