Ready Salted Chipsticks are the most popular crisp in the world

As we’ve seen with the media and “fake news” the above headline can sometimes be enough to make something true. Sadly this is not the case in this instance.

I’m ashamed to say that this blog is going to be another rant at Walkers’ Crisps.

They continue to say that Ready Salted Chipsticks (aka the best crisp in the world) proved not to be very popular. I just can’t see any evidence to back this up.

I think what we may both be suffering from is Research Bias or Confirmation Bias. Now, I can hold my hands up and say “Yes, I’ve found considerable evidence that supports my views, probably because it’s the only thing I look for”.

Walkers’ on the other hand seem to deliberately close their eyes and put their fingers in their ears (and in my mental image stomp their feet and shake their head vigorously saying “No, no, no. I am right. I AM right”).

I do troll them with all the messages I can find about Ready Salted Chipsticks and how much they are loved and missed. This is a minimum of two a week, and I make sure they receive each and every one of those messages. It’s still making no difference and they are not even considerate enough to reply to any of my kindly meant emails and tweets.

I have said it before, and more than likely I will say it again, Walkers’ have produced no evidence that Ready Salted Chipsticks were not popular. They cannot back this statement up with any hard proof, figures or sales numbers. Until I see this in black and white I will continue to support my bias, as apparently they are doing the same.

Can the Other Chipsticks Lovers jump on the Bring Back Ready Salted Chipsticks bandwagon?

Now as I’ve discussed before I’m not a fan of salt and vinegar flavour. I’m not going to rehash that argument, but I think we should get more support from our blue and white counterparts.

Whenever you mention the great sadness that is the absence of Ready Salted Chipsticks, they shrug it off and say that the salt and vinegar ones are still available.

Now, let’s flash forward a few years. Sales of salt and vinegar are dropping, and the poor souls who love them have no idea what Walker’s Crisps are capable of. They’ll do to them what they did to us. Remove our most beloved of crisps.

At that point they will wish they’d had the hindsight to join their brothers’ plight. March for equal rights for both red and blue!

For our mutual benefit s’n’v fans, let us unite! Be one voice of reason – variety is the spice of life, not vinegar! Add your weight to the plight and demand that Ready Salted Chipsticks are not left off the shelves.
